Get A Stunning Taster For ‘Snowpiercer’ With Poster, Concept Art And Soundtrack Excerpt

If you haven’t noticed from THN’s Korean Cinema Style, I’m a wee bit excited about three certain films being released next this year (still not used to that). However, one of them is keeping its cards very close to its chest, and that film is Bong Joon Ho’s English language debut SNOWPIERCER. Bong has directed Korean classics such as THE HOST, MEMORIES OF MURDER and MOTHER. Whereas STOKER and THE LAST STAND, directed by his fellow countrymen, have posters and trailers galore, we are yet to see much from the SNOWPIERCER. Now we can finally show you some bits and bobs including an excerpt from the soundtrack, a teaser poster, and some concept art.

SNOWPIERCER sees a band of survivors living on a train after a second ice-age destroys most life on the planet. A class struggle soon erupts among the survivors. The piece from the original score, composed by Marco Beltrami, is stunning and the concept art gives a real sense of what to expect. The teaser poster isn’t giving us much at the moment, but does show off the incredible international and varied cast that has been assembled, including the Korean star Song Kang Ho, from the likes of THE HOST, SYMPATHY FOR MR VENGEANCE, MEMORIES OF MURDER, THE GOOD THE BAD THE WEIRD, and THE FOUL KING, getting a top billing.

I could go on and on about the films of Bong Joon Ho, and I will once THN’s Korean Cinema Style reaches his work. Until then I’ll leave you with these odds and ends of a film that I’m sure will impress us all.

SNOWPIERCER is yet to receive a release date, but should be approaching around summer. It stars Chris Evans, Song Kang Ho, Octavia Spencer, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, John Hurt, Ewen Bremner, and Alison Pill.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
