Animation ‘Foosball’ By Juan Jose Campanella Gets First Teaser & Poster

After winning an Oscar for 2009’s El secreto de sus ojos (THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES), the Argentine director Juan Jose Campanella has turned his talent to something completely different, by taking on animation METEGOL…wait, it’s called FOOSBALL, hang on…it’s called FUTBOLIN, they might want to make a decision there!

This 3D computer animated, Spanish language film, is undoubtedly going to appeal to a different kind of audience and seems like one rooted deeply in South American (and Spanish) passion, that very specific love for football. It’s set around Amadeo, a shy but talented boy, and of a foosball team that is trying to get back together after having been dismantled (for those who don’t know, that’s also table football!). With the help of the other foosball players, Amadeo will have to face his most terrible rival on the football pitch: the Champ.

From this teaser, I have no idea whatsoever what to expect but it least it stems from an original premise, taken from a short story called Memoirs of a Right Winger by Argentine writer Roberto Fontanarrosa. Check out the trailer & poster below!
