“It’s got great big blotches of pink on it!” says Sir David Attenborough, on the New Land Iguana discovered in the Galapagos Islands for new series Galapagos 3D that starts tonight on Sky 3D and Sky 1 HD!
The greatest natural-history television presenter Sir David Attenborough, with over 50 years in broadcasting as a naturalist, continues to break boundaries and now he will reveal for the first time ever the pink iguana in his new Sky series, which although discovered a few years ago, has never been captured on screen until Sir David visited the islands in the Summer of 2012 to film his new series and had this to say:
“It’s a remarkable thing in this day and age when you think about the number of scientists per square meter in the Galapagos, and yet suddenly we have discovered a new species,” said the natural history broadcaster. “A little periwinkle or something which nobody has identified before, is one thing, but this is more than that, it’s a large pink iguana!”
First of all, check out the brand new clip below for The Hollywood News readers and a couple of fantastic images of the first look at another amazing species. You might also want to read up on our Q&A with Sir David, click here for my report from that event.
The new iguana will feature in the third episode of GALAPGOS 3D WITH DAVID ATTENBOROUGH, that premieres (TONIGHT!) on New Years Day at 7pm, with the following episodes airing on Saturday 5th and 12th January. The series will also be simulcast in 2D on Sky 1 HD.
