Listen: Tarantino’s Soundtrack Commentary For ‘Django Unchained’

Almost as engaging as Quentin Taratino’s features are the songs he includes in his movies. The official soundtrack for DJANGO UNCHAINED features new music from Rick Ross, John Legend, as well as samples from James Brown and 2Pac. To celebrate this, Tarantino has teamed up with Sirius XM to create a track-by-track commentary of all the music from his spaghetti western.

Recently speaking to MTV, Tarantino said:

‘[I’ve] never really asked an artist to write a composition for any of my movies because I don’t know if I’m going to like it, and even if I do like it, I don’t know if it will work with one of my films. I never wanted to put myself in that embarrassing situation.’

However, the submission of ‘Who Did That To You?’ from John Legend inspired a change of heart.

‘We would just sing it during the day, and I just kind of figured out where I could use it, then other artists started hearing, like, “You mean that worked?” So then all of a sudden, other songs started coming in.’

Hear Tarantino discuss each track, and share some extra information about the film, below.
