I’m no fan of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, but one thing I’m always a fan of is concept art. We’ve already seen some from THE AVENGERS, and now here’s a look at early ideas from Christopher Nolan’s trilogy ender. Most interesting are the different variations on Bane’s mask. I can understand not choosing any of the proposed ideas, as it would have been even harder for Tom Hardy to perform without any use of his face whatsoever. Another shows a very disfigured Bane, one where he seems to be dressed in Roman gladiator attire, and also a mask which is pretty much just a facehugger from ALIEN. Even if you thought the film was vastly underwhelming, these works at least force you to appreciate the amount of work that went into creating the film.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.

Why would you assume the reader shares your disappointment in the film?
