FUNDED! Quirky Post-Apocalyptic UK Comedy ‘The Fitzroy’ Is Go!

We’re very pleased to announce that THE FITZROY has been funded thanks to you generous guys and gals on Kickstarter! They completed their target with 24 hours to go but with a few hours left, you’ve still got time to get involved as well, right here:

The Fitzroy On Kickstarter UK!

The incredibly intriguing project has been put together by award winning producers James Heath and Liam Garvo through their production company Dresden Pictures. This is their first feature film and this Kickstarter UK campaign has helped them raise £60,000 through the popular crowd-funding website but, before you worry, there are numerous packages for everyone with different incomes, so anyone can get involved.

THE FITZROY is written by director Andrew Harmer. It’s being described as a black comedy set in an alternative, post-apocalyptic, 1950s. The Fitzroy hotel, a derelict submarine beached just off Margate, is the last place for a traditional summer holiday. Bernard, the hotel’s overworked and under-appreciated bellboy, faces a constant battle to keep the rusting hotel afloat and ship shape. But when he falls in love with one of the guests, the murderous femme fatale Sonya, he is thrown into a world of lies, chaos, and literal backstabbing.

You can still get involved and pledge what you can. Take a look at the wonderful rewards you will receive as well, depending on how much you want to put in. We think this project deserves to get off the ground, and we’ll be doing everything we can to help it along.

Set in an alternative post-apocalyptic 1950’s, The Fitzroy hotel, a derelict submarine beached just off Margate, is the last place for a traditional summer holiday. Bernard, the hotel’s bellboy, cook, maintenance man and general dogsbody faces a constant battle to  keep the decaying hotel airtight and afloat. But when he falls in love with Sonya, a murderous guest, he is thrown into a world of lies, backstabbing and chaos.

As Bernard struggles to hide her murders from the other guests and suspicious authorities, the hotel literally begins to sink around him. As his world implodes, Bernard must choose between the woman he thinks he loves and the hotel submarine that is keeping them all alive.
