News of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII has calmed down since Jason Flemying let slip Matthew Vaughn is set to direct Disney-led sequel (anyone else think that isn’t a coincidence?). We’ve still yet to receive any confirmation but a possible plot detail may have been uncovered from Michael Arndt’s script, one that mentions Luke Skywalker is almost certain to return as a older and wiser Jedi Knight, determined on building and teaching at a new academy for gifted ‘younglins’.
An article that slipped by unnoticed yesterday has claimed that a Jedi academy (shot on Mayan temple location in Tikal, Guatemala in previous films) is rumoured to feature in the new script. They added:
Yavin 4 and the rebel base return to the Star Wars plot in the forthcoming Episode VII, announced in October by the Walt Disney Co, in which Skywalker comes back to the planet to build a Jedi Knight academy. However, fans said that Disney will likely film those scenes in a studio rather than return to Tikal.
We wait with baited breath!
STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is slated for 2015, so they better get their skates on.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
