Action stars have been lining up for a role in Sylvester Stallone’s THE EXPENDABLES series. But one name whose absence has been most notable is that of martial arts superstar Jackie Chan. Chan the man was offered a role in THE EXPENDABLES 2, but unfortunately he had to turn the role down due to prior commitments. Luckily, with THE EXPENDABLES 3 looming, Chan has confirmed his presence in what he hints will be a sizable role. While at a press conference for his film CHINESE ZODIAC, Chan said:
Sly had invited me to be in ‘Expendables 2’ but I was too busy filming ‘CZ12’ and couldn’t make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes.
It all sounds very exciting, but I’d be extra excited of Jet Li also returned, although that doesn’t seem likely. If the rumours of Nicolas Cage and Harrison Ford to come to fruition, then we could be in for even more bonkers fun.
