The names are slowly and surely coming through, with announcements on films being considered for best animated film, best visual effects, best documentary, and best original song already made, now it’s the turn of the seven films still in consideration for best make-up. Best make-up is one of those categories that always interests me, because let’s be honest, you shouldn’t really be noticing the make-up if it’s that good. Obviously with fantasy films such as THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY and MEN IN BLACK III, we know our eyes are deceiving us. Rick Baker, the man behind make-up for MEN IN BLACK III has won the award 7 times, including for the first installment of the trilogy MEN IN BLACK. The films up for consideration are:
- HITCHCOCK
- THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY
- LES MISERABLES
- LINCOLN
- LOOPER
- MEN IN BLACK 3
- SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN
Looks like a good mixture there, and I would love to see the seven dwarves from SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN take on the dwarves from THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, in a battle royale style situation.
The full list of final nominations will be announced on 10th January with the ceremony hosted by Seth MacFarlane on 24th February.
