We love a good crime-caper here at THN and this latest indie genre effort, PAWN, looks as if it could be the surprisingly satisfying heist thriller. The film features a strong cast led by ‘Goodfella’ Ray Liotta as a detective attempting to piece together just why a petty diner hold-up, carried out by THE SHIELD’s Michael Chiklis, has turned into a complicated hostage situation that soon unmasked ties to corruption – including a number of his own cop colleagues.
The film, directed by former cinematographer David A. Armstrong (SAW), also co-stars Marton Csokas, Max Beesely, Stephen Lang, Sean Farris, Nikki Reed, Common and Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker.
Here we have the first impressive, if a touch spoiler-ish, trailer from the film set for release later next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
