Swapping cricket for basketball (what would Lady Grantham say?), some of the cast of the awarding-winning DOWNTON ABBEY took to the streets of New York City for a promotional appearance ahead of the Christmas Special. The cast were looking remarkably out of place without their petticoats and top hats, as they posed for photos with NY Knicks player Amar’e Stoudemire at the Denver Nuggets game last weekend at Madison Square Gardens. Dan Stevens (who plays Mattew Crawley) was absent from the game as he is currently starring opposite Jessica Chastain in The Heiress, which is running on Broadway.
In other Big Apple/DOWNTON ABBEY news, Julian Fellowes (the series creator) is reportedly working with NBC to create a period drama based on the Gilded Age of NYC.
