No, we haven’t turned into some sleazy gossip mag. Get your minds out of the gutter for a second. We are of course referring to GET HARD in the sense of becoming tough, strong, and threatening. In the film, which is reportedly about to be picked up by Warner Bros., we will see Will Ferrell as an investment banker wrongly convicted of a crime, and being taught by the guy who washes his car (Kevin Hart) how to be ‘hard’. The script is said to be written by Ian Roberts and Jay Martel. I’m not one to judge a film straight off the bat, but I’m predicting a little bit of backlash with the idea of a black character having to teach a white man how to get ready for prison. The idea of the wealthy investment banker being innocent is also a tad suspicious in terms of the film’s morals. However, with Ferrell and Hart on board this is clearly going to be a comedy, and will hopefully twist the idea in the same way as Jamie Foxx’s Motherfucker Jones in HORRIBLE BOSSES.
