‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ Get Bad-Ass In International Poster

Whenever a film project is delayed it’s usually not a good sign. DEAD SNOW director Tommy Wirkola’s big-budget Hollywood debut was set to open April/May this year but soon saw it’s release date pulled until early 2013. We’re hoping that’s in part due to being frightened off by THE AVENGERS assembling, rather than HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS being a poor feature. It is also expected the reason was to see if Jeremy Renner’s higher profile after taking over the Bourne franchise would put a few extra bums on seats. Still, the trailer looked a lot of fun so fingers crossed!

The title pretty much speaks for itself regarding the plot but with the stunning Gemma Arterton co-starring alongside Renner’s Hansel, as crossbow-wielding sibling Gretel, now all grown up and making a living hunting those who tormented their childhood – I’m sold. Check out the latest international poster (and the previous designs if you’ve missed them), for the action-packed fantasy set for cinemas in the US for the 25th January and the UK on the 15th March.

HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS co-stars Famke Janssen, Zoe Bell, Peter Stormare, Thomas Mann and Derek Mears.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
