While we still have a week to go before Peter Jackson unveils the first in his much-anticipated trilogy of new Hobbit adventures, it seems the fantasy world of J.R.R. Tolkien is wanting a major kick-start to get fans eager for more Middle-earth mayhem – even before the first film’s release.
Today we brought you a 13 minute look at THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY (as well as an all-new television spot) while EW has acquired the first still from the concluding part THE HOBBIT: THERE & BACK AGAIN, which is slated for July 2014.
This image gives us the first look at Luke Evans’ Bard and the return of bow-carrying, blue-eyed elf Legolas (played by Orlando Bloom).
THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG and THE HOBBIT: THERE & BACK AGAIN will arrive 13th December 2013 and 18th July 2014 respectively.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
