While we try to come to terms and shed a tear for the end of the shockingly-shite TWILIGHT SAGA, we’ve a host of potential imitators hoping to fill the void, including supernatural fantasy BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. While we pray none will come close to the dire attempts at bringing Stephenie Meyer’s snoozefest to fruition (screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg should be ashamed), we’ll hold off on giving the film a slagging until we’ve seen it – and who knows, it may just surprise us.
The film, which will centre on ‘star-crossed lovers’ Lena and Ethan, tells of their discovery of dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town. Richard LaGravenese is at the helm and here we have five further character posters (following the recent design featuring Alice Englert’s Lena).
BEAUTIFUL CREATURES stars Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson, Emmy Rossum, Viola Davis, Thomas Mann, Kyle Gallner, Alice Englert and Zoey Deutch. It hits cinemas 13th February 2013 in both the US and UK.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
