Coming via Entertainment Weekly, we have the first official still from science-fiction thriller ENDER’S GAME featuring a look at Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield’s heroes. Helmed by X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE (oh Christ) director Gavin Hood the movie is based on Orson Scott Card’s 1985 novel of the same name.
ENDER’S GAME focuses on a future Earth ravaged by a war with two different alien races. In preparation for an anticipated third invasion an international fleet sets up a school to find and train future commanders to save mankind. Considered the world’s most talented children, Ender Wiggin (Butterfield) stands out proving to be a tactical genius who may be needed sooner than anticipated.
ENDER’S GAME is expected to invade cinemas 25th October 2013 in the UK, with a US release slated for the 1st November. It co-stars Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis and Nonso Anozie.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
