Following on from his success on this year’s ‘biggest grossing ‘R’ rated comedy of all time TED, Seth MacFarlane has named his follow-up feature, which will be a western comedy called A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST.
MacFarlane is teaming with his TED co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild to pen the screenplay for the film, which is being described as similar in tone to Mel Brooks’ BLAZING SADDLES, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The word is that the script is actually complete, and the plan is to get the film into cinemas for summer 2013.
There are no further plot details available at present, but the trade does say that MacFarlane intends to physically star in the live action film as well as direct.
He’s a busy boy as Universal have ordered a sequel to TED and MacFarlane has the unenviable task of presenting the Oscars in February.
