I really rather enjoyed THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL when I finally got around to watching it on Blu-Ray earlier on this year. I thought it was a belting little comedy, and was pleased to see that it managed to please a lot of cinemgoers out there both here, and in the US. The sequel to the film has already been greenlit and today news hits us of some potential new casting.
Joining returning team members Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and Dev Patel are Oscar winning duo Helen Mirren and Colin Firth. Showbiz 411 report the casting news (well, they’re apparently ‘in talks’) as well as the news that director John Madden will also direct the sequel. Ol Parker will pen the script.
Shooting kicks off soon with Fox Searchlight backing the project.
