Jennifer Lee, one of the writers behind WRECK-IT RALPH, has been confirmed to co-direct upcoming Disney project FROZEN.
FROZEN is loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen and will star Idina Menzel (star of Broadway show WICKED) and Kristen Bell (GET HIM TO THE GREEK) as sisters Elsa and Anna. However, this isn’t a normal type of sisterly relationship – Elsa is a queen who exiles herself into a frozen forest, leaving Anna behind. Who should Anna call on to help her rescue her beloved relative? Why, a lumberjack mountain man called Kristoff and Sven, his reindeer…
Reports suggest that FROZEN is harking back to the days of SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS and will be based around some cracking musical numbers. Lee will co-direct alongside TARZAN captain Chris Buck.
FROZEN will hit US cinemas from 27th November 2013, with a UK release date of 20th December 2013.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
