The Force is still with him: while recently promoting his latest film, SUSHI GIRL, actor Mark Hamill gamely addressed queries about the upcoming STAR WARS sequels.
After decades of fielding questions from entertainment journalists and rabid STAR WARS fans alike, Hamill is back in the spotlight after the recent announcement that Disney purchased Lucasfilm for $4 billion. When news broke that Disney also planned to release three new STAR WARS installments – with the first tentatively scheduled for a 2015 release – speculation that Hamill would potentially return as hero Luke Skywalker spread through the Internet.
However, Hamill wasn’t playing any Jedi mind tricks when he admitted that he knew very little about the upcoming project himself, claiming his son knew more than he did: “He knew about the new writer, Michael Arndt, before I knew.” Despite claiming that he’s in the dark – and professing to complete shock when first told of the sequels by George Lucas – Hamill will undoubtedly have to answer a whole new set of STAR WARS questions.
In the meantime, fans can catch Hamill as Crow, an unstable jewel thief, in first-time director Kern Saxton’s upcoming SUSHI GIRL.
