You may have heard of the ‘Old West.’ but have you heard of The New West? Well, no, me neither, but it seems that there is a comic book bearing that name that is all set to be turned into a movie, and the man to adapt it has been named as Ryan Engle. The 2005 comic was written by Jimmy Palmiotti and illustrated by Phil Noto, and first hit bookshelves in 2005. The plot goes a little something like this:
Our story begins with a disgraced former Los Angeles Police detective Daniel Wise, who endures a near future deserted hostile LA environment where the Mayor has now been kidnapped and Daniel Wise is the only one who can save him, but can he do it with just a horse and sword?
Benderspink, Len Wiseman and Gareb Shamus will produce the flick, reports Variety.
