JGL To Join JLA As Batman!

Yesterday, we brought you snippets from an interview Zack Snyder gave to the New York Post regarding his upcoming Superman reboot, MAN OF STEEL, in which the visionary director hinted his comic-book effort will form the basis for the much-anticipated JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. He also expects new Kal-El, Henry Cavill, to return for the superhero squad set to include fellow DC owned The Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and of course The Dark Knight himself – Batman! (SPOILERS AHEAD)

Very strong rumours are now circulating that THE DARK KNIGHT RISES’ Joseph Gordon Levitt’s character ‘John Blake’, who as we all know from Christopher Nolan’s epic conclusion, was later introduced as ‘Robin’ and passed the mantle to suit-up as the new crime-fighter of Gotham City, will fill the boots of Batman in JUSTICE LEAGUE. We’ve heard rumours of this ilk before but Warner Bros. are determined to link their acclaimed Nolan/Batman franchise with MAN OF STEEL, with an offer currently being considered by the rising actor.

What is also gaining momentum is the possibility if he does indeed sign on, we’ll see JGL as Batman even before JUSTICE LEAGUE (which is set for 2015) in his own post/mid credit sequence in MAN OF STEEL. We’ll keep you posted…

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
