‘The Hobbit’s Japanese Poster Is An Epic Cast Collective!

The recent post-production blog saw Peter Jackson give us an update (along with a look at some new footage), of just where his first LORD OF THE RINGS prequel, THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, is in terms of editing and visual-effects work. The film will tell of the early exploits of the young Bilbo Baggins as he gives a helping hand to a bunch of Dwarf warriors intent on putting evil dragon Smaug to the sword. Martin Freeman takes the title role as he’s handpicked by Gandalf for a journey he’s destined for… as well as coming home a very different creature.

We can now bring you the brand new Japanese poster design, which sees all the familiar faces from Jackson’s Oscar-winning LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy alongside the new lead and dwarf followers.

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY is set for cinemas from the 14th December and will co-star Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Ian Holm, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, James Nesbitt and Andy Serkis.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
