Talk about cutting it fine! The highly anticipated LES MISERABLES had its first screenings on Friday, and when director Tom Hooper came on stage to introduced the film to the audience at the Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall he admitted that he had only stopped working on the film at 2am Wednesday morning. As it was Thanksgiving weekend, a first for the director, he also told the crowd what he was thankful for. “I’m grateful that I finished it (the film), I’m grateful to the thousands of people who have been on this journey, particularly the wonderful cast and I’m grateful to Victor Hugo, who unfortunately can’t be with us.”
The film’s first screening was a huge success, ending in a huge standing ovation.
