UK Trailer For ‘Safe Haven’

Now, don’t get me wrong – I, like most women, loved THE NOTEBOOK (I’m looking at you, Mr Gosling) – but I’m not such a fan of Nicholas Sparks’ other novel adaptations (including DEAR JOHN and THE LAST SONG). However, my opinion doesn’t stop film studios from adapting the books…and there’s another one on the way.

SAFE HAVEN, starring Josh Duhamel (Alex) and Julianne Hough (Katie), focuses on Katie’s struggles to adapt to her new home and tiny town. Things start to look up when she bumps into Alex, a widowed father-of-two who befriends his new neighbour. But when Katie’s past catches up with her, it’s up to Alex to show her what true love is. Directed by Lasse Hallström (WHAT’S EATING GILBERT GRAPE?), the film co-stars David Lyons (EAT PRAY LOVE) and Cobie Smulders (AVENGERS ASSEMBLE).

It seems studios have picked up on how popular Sparks’ books (and the films) are, as SAFE HAVEN closely follows the recently released THE LUCKY ONE. The US will get to see SAFE HAVEN from 14th February 2013 (a Valentine’s day release – how romantic), while us Brits have to wait until 1st March. You can watch the recently released UK trailer below.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
