Do we have another YA winner our hands? We do according to Wyck Godfrey, producer of the newest TWILIGHT movie. He has chosen an absolute winner for his next project, John Green’s THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. Talking to press on the TWILIGHT- BREAKING DAWN PART 2 red carpet, he said that the film was ‘closest to being ready’ and that (500) DAYS OF SUMMER script writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber have already written the script. He then went on to say:
“It is the best book, it makes you rip your guts out, it makes you want to go out and live a better life. I love it, I can’t wait to make it.”
The story, which tells the story of Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters, two cancer patients attending the same support group, has caused a lot of buzz in Hollywood already, and was recently named Amazon’s Top 10 books of 2012.
Mae Whitman, who recently played Mary-Elizabeth in another young adult novel adaptation THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER, is currently fan favourite to play Hazel.
