I wasn’t sure if there was anything that would make me want to see LIFE OF PI more than I already do, but it turns out it’s the new TV spot. The video below gives us a better idea of the significance of Piscine Molitor “Pi” Patel’s story which comes from Yann Martel’s 2001 beloved novel about a shipwrecked Indian boy’s spiritual adventure after a terrible shipwreck, leaving him stranded on a lifeboat, with an enormous tiger, called Richard Parker.
The shots that we’ve seen so far look stunning with a truly innovative use of 3D technology from director Ang Lee.
LIFE OF PI is released 21st November 2012 in the US & 20th December 2012 in the UK and I predict a positive cascade of awards for this film in the not-so-distant future. It stars Suraj Sharma, Rafe Spall, Irrfan Khan, and Gérard Depardieu.
