Here is the first trailer for Britain’s latest rom-com, I GIVE IT A YEAR. And you know what? It looks quite good. I know!
It stars Rose Byrne (BRIDESMAIDS, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) and Rafe Spall (ONE DAY, PROMETHEUS, son of Timothy) as newly weds who go through the trials and tribulations of their first year of marriage, including temptation and getting on each others’ tits. Along with them comes a bloody good supporting cast including Anna Faris, Stephen Merchant, Olivia Coleman, Minnie Driver and Jason Flemyng, all of whom have some serious comedy chops.
I GIVE IT A YEAR is from the producers of BRIDGET JONES and LOVE ACTUALLY and written by one of the scribes of BORAT and BRUNO, Dan Mazer, who makes his directorial debut here. You can see his influence over the picture as there’s a couple of paedo jokes, which don’t normally make the trailer. Good work, that man!
I GIVE IT A YEAR hits UK cinemas on 8th February and is yet to get a US release date.

John is a gentleman, a scholar, he’s an acrobat. He is one half of the comedy duo Good Ol’ JR, and considers himself a comedy writer/performer. This view has been questioned by others. He graduated with First Class Honours in Media Arts/Film & TV, a fact he will remain smug about long after everyone has stopped caring. He enjoys movies, theatre, live comedy and writing with the JR member and hetero life partner Ryan. Some of their sketches can be seen on YouTube and YOU can take their total hits to way over 17!
