Whilst we here at THN have written many times regarding the lack of genuine savagery in Gary Ross’ take on the Suzanne Collins novel THE HUNGER GAMES, I found enough to make me want to see more. Sequel CATCHING FIRE may have lost Ross at the helm, but the recruited new talent along with the returning cast from the first film holds enough promise not to be compared to TWILIGHT shenanigans – in summary, there are no dreadful CGI wolves, shirtless hunks who have as much presence on screen as a dripping tap, and a plot as eventful as a wet fart.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE has now wrapped shooting and we have the first motion poster, which was apparently attached the THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 2, from the sequel now with Francis Lawrence directing.
The film sees the return of Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci and Toby Jones, alongside franchise newcomers Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Jeffrey Wright and Amanda Plummer.
