Gerard Butler Actioner ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ Gets New Poster!

Since his breakout role in Zack Snyder’s visually-stunning swords n’ sandals epic 300, Gerard Butler has dabbled in a number of other genres, yet always looks his best in action man mode (although GAMER gave me a damn headache). After tepid romantic and comedy roles, it’s the likes of LAW ABIDING CITIZEN and MACHINE GUN PREACHER that live longer in the memory.

OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN is the latest action-thriller that sees Butler as our hero. It’s directed by Antoine Fuqua (TRAINING DAY) with the Scottish heartthrob as a former Secret Service agent working against the clock to prevent an imminent terrorist attack on the White House. It does sound a little similar to Roland Emmerich’s forthcoming WHITE HOUSE DOWN but Fuqua’s effort may have an advantage by arriving a few months earlier.

In the meantime check out the later poster (as well as the previous design) for film co-starring the awesome supporting cast of Morgan Freeman, Radha Mitchell, Dylan McDermott, Aaron Eckhart, Ashley Judd, Melissa Leo, Rick Yune, Cole Hauser, Robert Forster and Angela Bassett.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

Think the film you may be referring to was Motor City which recently pushed production back till next year although it is still unknown if Butler will be available to take up the role.
