Four More Fight It Out For Harry Osborne Role In ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’

We recently brought you news that three rising stars (Dane DeHaan, Brady Corbett and Alden Ehrenreich) we’re in the frame and auditioning to take the much-sought after role of Harry Osborne in Marc Webb’s web-spinning sequel, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Now it appears a further four actors have been asked to read for the role previously played by James Franco in Sam Raimi’s blockbusting trio.

Douglas Booth, currently shooting Darren Aronofsky’s NOAH, Sam Claflin soon to be seen in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, LES MISERABLES’ Eddie Redmayne and Boyd Holbrook, last seen as Kevin Costner’s ruthless, one-eyed sharp-shooting son in superb western mini-series HATFIELD’S & McCOY’S, are all in contention.

Andrew Garfield will reprise the role of Peter Parker and his wall-crawling alter-ego after this summers successful superhero reboot. Emma Stone and Sally Field are also expected to return alongside THE DESCENDANTS’ Shailene Woodley and the rumoured Jamie Foxx on villain duties with Electro (aka Max Dillon).

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 swings into theaters on the 18th April 2014 in the UK and 2nd May 2014 in the US.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
