More Names In The Frame For ‘Transformers 4’

Michael Bay is gearing up more bot battles after we learned last week, Mark Wahlberg will headline his fourth film in the Hasbro TRANSFORMERS franchise. We also know TRANSFORMERS 4 which it is currently titled (although expect some corny crap like TRANS4MERS: CARNAGE by the time of release), will take place four years after the head-splitting mess that was DARK OF  THE MOON, with an all-new set of confusing mechanical aliens. Just the thought is giving me a fucking headache…

Anyway, casting is currently underway for the roles of Wahlberg’s teenage daughter (yes, the one we’ll see with the camera shoved up her skirt for the majority of the film) as well as that of the prospective boyfriend. Those auditioning are said to be Isabelle Cornish (sister of Abbie Cornish and star of HOME & AWAY), Nicola Peltz (THE LAST AIRBENDER), Margaret Quallay (daughther of Andie Macdowell) and Gabriella Wilde (soon to be seen in the remake of CARRIE).

Luke Grimes, last seen in a pointless role in TAKEN 2, Landon Liboiron (TERRA NOVA), Brenton Thwaites from the upcoming MALEFICENT, rising Irish actor Jack Reynor and WEEDS regular Hunter Parrish, are all in contention to complete with Wahlberg’s pecs.

TRANSFORMERS 4 is also expected to be the beginning of a new trilogy but we’ll keep you posted on these developments.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
