The campaigning for the Academy Awards has started and it’s a known fact that some films will always be considered Oscar worthy while others have to fight much harder for the consideration. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is both a comic book film and an action film, two genres which aren’t always associated with the prestigious occasion.
However, after Heath Ledger’s posthumous Oscar win for his portrayal of The Joker in THE DARK KNIGHT in 2008 – Warner Bros is hoping that the Batman franchise finally gets accepted by the Oscars. The studio is submitting nomination requests for almost everyone in the cast, and for every category imaginable. They’ve launched a new ‘For your Consideration site’ and the nominations they are hoping for are:

Sadly, they lose credibility when pushing Anne Hathaway as a contender for the lead actress category. The only realistic acting performance to be considered by the Academy would be that of Sir Michael Caine. Christopher Nolan has never been nominated for an Oscar as a director before, and somehow I find it unlikely that THE DARK KNIGHT RISES would secure him his first nod. With all unconventional Oscar films, sound and make-up are the likely categories in which THE DARK KNIGHT RISES has a chance for nomination, and possibly even a win.
Let us know if you think Warner Bros wishlist is a realistic one or if you disagree with them completely.

Isra has probably seen one too many movies and has serious issues with differentiating between reality and film - which is why her phone number starts with 555. She tries to be intellectual and claims to enjoy German and Swedish film, but in reality anything with a pretty boy in it will suffice.
