Stallone Joins Indie Drama ‘Reach Me’

Not content to just pick up his pension, Oscar-winner and geriatric action star Sylvester Stallone is seemingly busier than ever. The ROCKY actor has already filmed Walter Hill’s thriller BULLET TO THE HEAD and prison-escape actioner THE TOMB, with both due early next year. Sly is currently set to shoot boxing comedy GRUDGE MATCH with Robert DeNiro and prepping a third EXPENDABLES effort and now we’ve news of another project Stallone is involved in.

2 DAYS IN THE VALLEY and 15 MINUTES director (and Stallone’s former COBRA co-star) John Herzfeld tapped Sly to appear in his indie drama REACH ME. The film is currently shooting and the actor is said to have already filmed his part over a seven day period. The film will follow a group of people who all have a connection to a self-help book authored by a reclusive former football coach.

No word on what role Stallone will take, but the cast includes Ving Rhames, Danny Aiello, Omari Hardwick, Nelly and Elizabeth Henstridge, who recently signed on for Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.LD. series.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
