Maria Bello To Star In ‘Saw’ Director’s Thriller

Just earlier this week we reported on projects for both James Wan and Maria Bello, with Wan looking to direct a big-screen MACGYVER adaptation, and Bello joining the cast of THE PRISONERS. Well now it looks as though they will be working together on an unrelated project which is currently untitled but going under the name THE UNTITLED ‘JAMES WAN PRESENTS’ THRILLER. Catchy! Wan will produce with Will Canon directing.

Co-producing with Wan will be Lee Clay, who worked with Bello on BEAUTIFUL BOY. Bello Said:

I loved working with Lee Clay on BEAUTIFUL BOY and look forward to working with him again and creating a great thriller with James.

The script is being written by Max La Bella, based on an original story by Wan. Wan had this to say:

I’m so thrilled to be shepherding this project. The talent is really incredible, and in particular, Maria Bello was on the top of our list so we’re excited to have her.

The film will see a police detective and psychologist (Bello) attend a crime scene after a horrific massacre. It soon becomes apparent that the victims were there on an amateur ghosthunt. But was the killer human, or does the house have secrets itself? Sounds like an interesting mix of talent who obviously have a good relationship, and who doesn’t watch those ghosthunting programmes and hope someone gets massacred? I know I do.

The film will start shooting January 2013 in Baton Rouge, LA and it will be released by Dimension Films.
