Kit Harington To Headline Paul W.S. Anderson’s ‘Pompeii’ Disaster

It’s usually the case the word ‘disaster’ often appears alongside writer/director Paul W. S. Anderson’s efforts. To be fair to the Geordie-born filmmaker, I’ve enjoyed his first RESIDENT EVIL film and cult space horror EVENT HORIZON. Even his preposterous remake of THE THREE MUSKETEERS was fun at times.  However, Anderson’s latest project will indeed be a disaster, an period action film centred on the worlds devastating volcanic eruption entitled POMPEII.

GAMES OF THRONES and SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D star Kit Harington will take the lead of Milo, the slave of a shipping tycoon who dreams of buying his freedom and marrying his master’s beautiful daughter. He soon finds she’s already been promised to a corrupt Roman senator, while he’s in the process of being sold to another slave-owning stranger in Naples. He escapes and heads back to Pompeii to rescue his lover, when he hears Mount Versuvius has spectacularly erupted with everyone running for their lives.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
