Although coming from another Stephenie Meyer novel with a love triangle, I hold out a lot more hope for this more science-fiction-orientated thriller, THE HOST. The film has been written and directed by Andrew Niccol, with THE LOVELY BONES and HANNA rising star Saoirse Ronan headlining as Melanie Stryder, a young women with a rare gift of being able to control the parasitic life form within her body, after an alien invasion has infested the world population.
Here’s that latest poster:
THE HOST opens on the 29th March 2013 in the US and UK plus it co-stars an impressive cast of Diane Kruger, William Hurt, Jake Abel, Max Irons, Frances Fisher and Boyd Holbrook.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
