The Brit answer to Scorcese and DeNiro have reunited once again for soft porn biopic THE LOOK OF LOVE. The ever-excellent Steve Coogan and director Michael Winterbottom will bring the story of Paul Raymond, the famous (or rather infamous) born baron known as the King Of Soho, to the big-screen. The film will mark the fourth time of working together after music maestro Tony Wilson’s biopic 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE, A COCK & BULL STORY and acclaimed television series THE TRIP.
Before we see Coogan reprise his iconic role of a Norfolk legend in ALAN PARTRIDGE: THE MOVIE, THE LOOK OF LOVE will see how Raymond (who is looking rather Tony Ferrino-esque) rose up the ranks as mucky mag owning millionaire. We have the first poster and images of the film set for cinemas later next year.
THE LOOK OF LOVE also features Anna Friel, Imogen Poots, Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Tamsin Egerton, Kieran O’Brien, Dara O’ Briain and Chris Addison.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
