Sam Raimi moved from low-buget chainsaw mutilation to superhero superstar director pretty swiftly. His latest however, will be more family-friendly affair as he brings us the early adventures of OZ: THE GREAT & POWERFUL.
James Franco takes the title role of small-town circus magician who is whisked away from Kansas in the prequel to classic fantasy THE WIZARD OF OZ. The film will also show how his character aligns with three friendly witches, whose jealousy-ridden and soured relationship eventually turns one of their number into the character we come to know as The Wicked Witch Of The North!
Following the first two posters we debuted the last couple of weeks (a third also expected this week), we have some stunning new stills from the film set for cinemas 8th March 2013.
OZ: THE GREAT & POWERFUL is based on L. Frank Baum’s beloved novel and co-stars Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, Zach Braff, Joey King, Martin Klebba and Rachael Weisz.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
