Over the last few weeks we’ve brought you the first images, poster, trailer and release details for the remake of the 1984 cult yuletide slasher SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT. Steven C. Miller is at the helm for this updated horror (simply-titled SILENT NIGHT) in which a night of festive cheer turns horrific for a small mid-western town, when a man dressed as St. Nick begins massacring merry folk on Christmas Eve.
Acting icon Malcolm McDowell headlines alongside Jamie King as sheriff and deputy, whose quiet night of keeping the peace and enjoying festivities turns into a game of ‘catch the killer’. Here we have the first clip in which a victim tied to a chair is taunted by the bearded torturer with his hatchet.
SILENT NIGHT will get a limited theatrical run on 30th November in the US, with a quick DVD/Blu-ray release less than a week later. A UK release is still to be confirmed. The film co-stars Brendan Fehr, Lisa Marie, Ellen Wong and Donal Logue.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
