Last week, we brought you the first and – lets be honest – ‘wicked’ poster for Sam Raimi’s THE WIZARD OF OZ prequel, OZ: THE GREAT & POWERFUL. The family fantasy, based on L. Frank Baum’s beloved novel, will tell of the circus magician’s (James Franco) journey from Kansas to ruler of the Emerald City (albeit from behind the curtain). We’ll also find out how best friend witches Theodora and Glinda (played by beauties Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams) find their relationship torn apart by the jealous witch Evanora (Rachael Weisz).
Check out the second poster (which combined with next week’s third release will form one complete image) for the film, due in cinemas in 2D, 3D and IMAX from 8th March 2013. We’ve added the first wonderful trailer (released a few of months ago) for those that missed it.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
