We’re always championing anyone with a love of film and all that comes with following the medium to follow their dreams. We have loved many fan-made short films and posters that have cropped up online via various websites and social media. The most recent that impressed us was a design based on Kimberly Peirce’s remake of Brian De Palma’s 70s shocker CARRIE which, if you ask us, was way better then the studios official teaser poster.

Again we’ve found another design, this time by artist Karthik Abhiram, who has drawn this outstanding montage poster based on the intensely gore-filled recent trailer for Fede Alvarez’ EVIL DEAD remake. Although we’ve yet to have an official poster from the film, we think Abhiram should be in with a shout at making this official. The film is building a huge buzz and has to be one of next years much-anticipated genre films. You can check out the talented Abhiram’s process on the making of the poster design on his website HERE – let us know your thoughts!

EVIL DEAD will be released in cinemas from 12th April 2013 and stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Elizabeth Blackmore and Lou Taylor Pucci.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

  1. Really good, but the blue text just doesn’t look right colour-wise and the font could be better. Also the ‘Evil Dead’ logo should be bigger and centered at the bottom.

It should simply say ‘A FREDE ALVAREZ FILM|SPRING 2013’ at the top.

    my opinion anyway
