Is there a filmmaker in the world who provokes a sense of anticipation like Steven Spielberg? The answer of course, is ‘probably not’, because when Hollywood’s favourite beard brings his ‘A’ game, no one can touch him. It’s no surprise then that there’s a great deal of buzz about his upcoming biopic LINCOLN.
Acclaimed actor Daniel Day-Lewis takes the role of the legendary US president, and the film will chronicle his struggle in the final days of the Civil War – dealing with the carnage of the battlefield and the machinations within his own cabinet as he fights to abolish slavery. Except rousing drama, big performances, and scenes of combat like only Spielberg can deliver – also expect a major presence at next year’s Academy Awards.
Joining Day Lewis are Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sally Field, David Starthairn, James Spader, Tommy Lee Jones, John Hawkes, and Jackie Earle Haley.
The film arrives in US cinemas 9th November and then in the UK 25th January 2013.

Looks bloody brilliant: Spielberg and Kushner together again after Munich – Spielberg’s most under-rated work. Sad the American’s get it 2 months before.
