British stunner Imogen Poots is being lined up as the female lead, opposite BREAKING BAD star Aaron Paul in EA’s video-game based action-thriller NEED FOR SPEED. Paul was recently confirmed to be headlining the fast-paced film, set to be directed by ACT OF VALOR and former stuntman, Scott Waugh and now it appears they’ve found their leading lady in the actress known for roles in the FRIGHT NIGHT and JANE EYRE remakes.
There is no word on yet on a plot (what videogame adaptation has one anyway), other than to state it will be ‘rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s‘ but it’s sure to rival the likes of THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise for cars and girls (especially one as pretty as Poots). NEED FOR SPEED is set for release 4th February 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
