THE MUPPETS sequel will probably be a bit overshadowed now that Disney also own the rights to Marvel and Star Wars, but that doesn’t mean we here at THN are going to be biased in anyway shape of form. Now let me crank out this news item quickly so I can get back to a galaxy far, far away. THE MUPPETS 2 will see the return of director James Bobin along with co-writer Nicholas Stoller. The film will be a caper that involves our furry, puppety friends in Europe being pursued by Hans Lander himself, Christoph Waltz as an interpol agent.
Obviously Waltz makes a fantastic villain in anything, but he also has that likable charm which will make him slide in nicely to a family film. In fact, I can easily imagine the Oscar winning actor shaking the throat of Kermit The Frog. The last Muppets movie was a nice return to form, and hopefully this will be just as fun a continuation, even if Jason Segel doesn’t return for writing duties.
