Following yesterday’s announcement that Disney has acquired the rights to all things Lucasfilm, the legal wrangles surrounding who owns what and just where do longterm distributers 20th Century Fox stand in this deal, are slowly beginning to take shape. One tidbit surfacing today regarding Fox, is that it will hold onto all theatrical and home entertainment releases of STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE for life, meaning any future DVD/Blu-ray box-sets (or cinema re-releases) of George Lucas groundbreaking space-opera, Fox will hold all the cards and will no doubt demand a huge wedge. There are also rumblings that Fox will also hold similar rights to the other five episodes until 2020. We’ll try and get confirmation on those details very soon.
In the meantime, iconic villain Darth Vader and a number of his Stormtrooper crew are wasting no time at all in settling in to their new surroundings. Enjoy!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
