Sometimes you watch a trailer and you have absolutely no idea as to what you just saw. The trailer for JOHN DIES AT THE END is exactly one of those experiences, and I mean that in the best possible way. From the director of PHANTASM (1979) and BUBBA HO-TEP (2002), Don Coscarelli, the film appears to be a madcap jump through dimensions, with a light spreading of demon exorcism, and a pinch of surreal imagery. No matter what, it looks fantastic. The film is bound to split audiences and entice those looking for something a tad bonkers.
I love Coscarelli’s previous work, and this looks as though it will fit nicely into his filmography. With a range of actors ranging from the A-List, such as Paul Giamatti, and cult favourites, this should be a film with something for everyone.
JOHN DIES AT THE END is set for release On Demand 28th December with a US theatrical release scheduled for 25th January. It stars Chase Williamson, Rob Mayes, Paul Giamatti, Clancy Brown, Glynn Turman, Doug Jones, and Daniel Roebuck.
