After making its way through the film festival circuit, the Brian Dannelly-directed STRUCK BY LIGHTNING finally has an “official” trailer after being picked up by Tribeca Films. The coming of age comedy follows a high school senior named Carson Phillips (Chris Colfer) who was destined for bigger things and had hopes to leave his dead end town, but life had other ideas when he is suddenly killed after being hit by a lightning bolt at school. The film also stars Allison Janney, Polly Bergen, Rebel Wilson, Christina Hendricks, Dermot Mulroney, Sarah Hyland and Angela Kinsey.
GLEE’s Chris Colfer makes his screenwriting debut with STRUCK BY LIGHTNING. It was also revealed that Colfer has adapted the film into a young adult book, following the success of his children’s novel THE LAND OF STORIES.
The film is set to be released in the US at the end of the year.
