Further to earlier news that Bill Murray had joined George Clooney’s latest historical heist caper MONUMENTS MEN, it appears 007 himself, Daniel Craig, has also been cast.
The film, co-written, directed by, and of course starring gorgeous George, will focus on the final days of the Nazis rule, with the Clooney’s US army officer and art lover joining forces with numerous museum curators and art historians to save invaluable works of art before Hitler can destroy them.
Also, it seems previously-rumoured stars are now confirmed, with Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville and Bob Balaban all on board. The script is adapted from the Robert M. Edsel novel of the same name, with George co-writing with GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK co-scribe Grant Heslov.
This sounds a project to genuinely be excited for – great cast, solid director, interesting source material, and some good old fashioned Nazis on villain duties.
