He’s one rising filmmaker we’ve had our eyes on for sometime after viewing his mysterious short film EXIST, with a specially written feature focusing on the man and his extraordinary expanding talents and if you missed it, you can watch here. Now, we’ve been given the exclusive first look at Tyson Wade Johnston’s exciting new short film SEED.
Johnston has stated his goal was always to bring something refreshing with this latest project, which is clearly a 1960/70’s science-fiction-inspired piece that showcases what he finds fascinating about the genre of that period and mankind in general. He’s not content with creating the familiar viral, special-effects heavy clips that may impress but can be ultimately soulless, Johnston is a unique individual that demands a more complete character-driven narrative. Enjoy!

Keep an eye on THN over the coming months and years as Johnston is certain to have a number of high profile efforts coming his way and as always, we’ll bring you all the details when we have them.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
